Hey guys, it’s getting pretty close now. Christmas eve is just 7 days away, and we have been busy doing the normal getting everything ready for the big day, although as I’ve said before we all know that this year, being an abnormal Christmas, as we still undergo the impacts of Covid 19.
It is easy to get yourself in a tiz, especially as Christmas day lurks quicker and quicker.
Communicate with your loved ones.
We all know that the normal gatherings are a no go this year, but it doesn’t mean you can’t contact them. Make a special effort to get together virtually, for a Christmas chat. Or agree to meet them whilst following the government social distancing rules. You never know they may need the company, just as much as your feeling right now. Don’t forget we are going through this abnormal Christmas period, together.
Take it easy.
It isn’t often that you do not have to be surrounded by too many people in one house, this year you have every excuse to let the day go as it pleases. The rule of having no more than 6 actually puts less pressure on the Christmas day.
Remember it’s not forever.
Coronavirus may have taken up our lives in 2020, and led to an abnormal Christmas season. However, there is hope for the future, since we postponed our wedding. I am in high hopes of restarting the wedding plans, very soon!
And the same goes for now, staying positive is so important. Because although we feel sad at the moment, and we miss seeing our loved ones regularly and the normal things that we would be doing. 2021 is a new year, and it can only be onwards and upwards from here.
Christmas only comes once a year. Just enjoy it, it doesn’t matter if you have not afforded what you could normally, or if you have forgotten to buy something for the menu. You will survive that, just like any other day.
I’ve always loved the Christmas period. It’s my favourite time of the year. Everything about the Christmas season fills me with happiness. I’ve always secretly loved the struggle of finding the perfect gift for loved ones and the busy vibes that feels the 2 months up until Christmas.
I am very grateful to say that for the whole of my life I have spent every Christmas period with my mum, dad and brother. With other members of the family joining us later in the day for Christmas lunch.
this year is the 4th Christmas that I am spending with my beautiful fiancé. We started hosting Christmas together as soon as we started living together. Originally at Emma’s dads farm, and this year it will be at our house. Eeeeee, I am actually quite excited.
it’s gonna be so different again this year, I think I’m going to miss having Christmas at the farm, but in the same breathe I am excited to start our new Christmas traditions too.
Christmas shopping normally starts September/October time for me and my Emma. We do a little bit at a time. Normally starting with random things that we pick up in the shops knowing there make lovely presents. We then sit down together with a notebook and go through the haul, allocating them to who we are going to gift them too.
There are plenty of things that make me realise how much we have had to be grateful for in the past. Normally from November onwards we tend to have a Callander filled with days out with family and friends, normally for shopping or meals, etc. So thanks to corona we have had a lot to miss this year. Especially the annual trip to poundberry!
we normally prepare the veg and table on Christmas Eve so we then only have to focus on is cooking the lunch and enjoying time with loved ones. we also make mince pies together. 💛
When it comes to Christmas Eve, the past few years my parents have come to us at the farm, we then sit and enjoy a Camembert and meat platter buffet, whilst having a few drinks and play a few games together. This year won’t be any different as my parents and brother are staying with us here but maybe for a bit longer then a night or 2, who knows.
Christmas morning, we would get up early and walk down the stairs to share Em’s Dads presents with him and get the turkey into the oven, we would have an alarm set for around 6. We’d always come down and find that Pete was already sorting the turkey for us as well.
a few hours would past, and once every one had woken up and had a coffee, I’d bake some croissants in the oven and have these ready for us to east for our Christmas breakfast with Buck’s Fizz!
we sit around in a circle and take it in turns to open presents from our sacks, and it would normally take a few hours to do so as well. But it’s a nice way lot really appreciating the gifts received, and what others are opening.
once we finished opening presents was normally about the time my Nan and uncle would arrive to us, for then more present opening and the drinks start pouring.
we’d sit and eat our Christmas dinner around the big table in the dining room. Until we couldn’t eat anymore. Then continue to the living room for family games and chat. Until eventually the day is gone.
my favourite part of Christmas has always been the Boxing Day party at my nans house however, I have way to many memories of being extremely drunk at my nans, and with her. pill never forget the screwed up face she made after I convinced her to drink a sours shot.
or the time I got in trouble because I apparently made my grown ass uncle by drink in the corner shop (he full well offered when I walked with him, and I was drunk for goodness sakes!)
I am grateful for all the Christmas memories I have made with my loved ones.
although we know this year won’t be the same. We will definitely still be making memories and enjoying the day!
Christmas is the time of the year that we are all focused on spending time with our loved ones. So having some ideas prepared is a really good way of keeping on top of having fun and avoiding any unnecessary family drama. So today I am sharing things to do with your family over Christmas day. To help you stay organised and feel excited about the days to come.
Play board games
Playing board games is my favourite suggestion especially for Christmas day, once the dinner has been eaten! What best but to keep everyone around the table, coming together and enjoying themselves.
Jenga can be such an intense game to play with the family. Ensuring that you’re not knocking over the tower, being careful to lean. Only to feel frustrated when you’re knocked and the whole tower falls to pieces. Sound about right? I absolutely love this game, we play it quite often anyway… However, the later in the night your playing on Christmas, depending on how much drink you have had, increases the challenge on actually keeping the tower up.
Ohhhh Monopoly, The game of all board games. Arguments have gone on for hours over this game. To be fair that being said it is totally a game that can last forever and a day. Is it all about strategy? Or is it just luck?
It was Miss Scarlet, in the library, with the gun! another game that had you guessing and concentration is a must in this gam, perfect for the families who like to compeer against each other where ever possible though!
I will never forget the Christmas that we played Pictionary. I somehow managed to confuse Northern lights, with the red lights, So I tried to draw a lady stood under the lamp post, like the red light district… Yeah I am not sure how I confused the 2… Maybe it was the wine I had been drinking over christmas dinner. Pictionary is such a laugh, especially if your playing with me to be fair.
Enjoy the seasonal television
In this house its all about the soap specials, hour long Christmas day Eastenders, that has always been my favourite, Since I was a child. its funny but I get excited at the end of Christmas Day, when I know it won’t be long and we will be chilling with tv. Although some years we also avoid the tv and make sure we’re doing more together than zoned out.
Take a long walk.
Especially when it’s after the Christmas dinner. Everyone has overeaten on the mass amount of food made all for one day. So having a walk after your meal not only makes you feel better but also is a great activity to share with your family and make some memories along the way.
No matter what it is you end up doing. Enjoy. Have a lovely stress free day.
We all love the idea of having the perfect festive night in, but what does this actually mean? I was sat in the car earlier when I came up with the idea for posting about this. So Today I am sharing my thought on the ingredients to a perfect festive night in.
You will need.
1 set of cosy pyjamas.
Your favourite mug and a hot chocolate.
Cosy throw to snuggle under.
Choice of snacks.
Winter smelling candle.
The tv remote.
First things first.
Have yourself a nice warm shower or bath. Get dressed into your cosiest snuggly pyjamas. Oh, and of course pamper yourself a little with a decent face mask. My ideal would be a bath bomb from lush. then a clay facemask.
Treat yourself to a takeout dinner.
Never mind cooking, tonight is all about chilling and relaxing with you and your loved one, or just you.
So order your favourite food to enjoy, and then add in a few munchies to enjoy throughout the night!
Ensure you have made your film evening space nice and cosy.
A tidy space, with just everything you need around you. It does make a massive difference to actually being able to unwind. Get comfy and cosy, oh and definitely add in a throw, to snuggle under.
Put on your favourite Christmas movie.
It doesn’t have to be a festive one, but since it is this close to Christmas now, having a festive night with sparkling tree in the background. Candles lit and the atmosphere. Especially if you are cuddled up with your loved one.
Snuggle up with your loved ones.
Spending time with your loved ones this time of year is so important. Cuddling up and spending time just being is so good for your connections with your loved ones. Sometimes we just need to take the time to reconnect. Life is stressful. Especially the year we have had.
Forget your phone, forget your work, forget any stresses you have going on right now! Switch off and unwind. The perfect atmosphere does not need your phone going off.
The christmas holiday is my favourite time of the year. Festive cheer, feeling merry (normally on gin) and sparkly lights everywhere…
So Today I am excited to be answering questions from the Christmas holiday tag.
What’s your favourite Christmas Movie?
Especially since I’ve been with Emma I have had such a soft spot for all of the Christmas movies. Emma loves them and will happily start watching them around October time. I specifically love any Christmas movie that has a bit of magical romance in.
Yep I’m one of those mushy ones.
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
No. I wish! To be honest I am so jealous of places like America where it actually snows over the Christmas period. I would love a white Christmas. I bet it would feel so magical.
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
The past few years my family have come over to us for Christmas Day.
This year is the first Christmas where we are spending it in our first home. My parents and brother will be here too. I can’t wait.
I don’t really think it’s about where you spend the holiday. It’s who you spend it with.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
The minute I hear the jingles of Mariah Carey.
Ohhhhhhh. I don’t want a lot for Christmas. There is just one thing I need.
It is and always has been my favourite Christmas tune.
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
We sometimes open just one present. Normally the pyjamas we have gotten each other. So we can wear them to bed and lounge around in a new cosy set for Christmas morning.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Um no…. Rudolph is one… Dasher… Vixen… Prancer… and thats it, I cant think of who the other ones are.
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
making home made mince pies with Emma. Then eating the lush parsley balls on Christmas Day that have been a traditional dish in her family for years. They are amazing.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
fake. But it’s a beautiful tree. One year I would like to share the experience of having a real tree in our house though.
What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
So as I just mentioned. Em’s family dish of parsley balls have been a real treat the past few years. But I’ve always enjoyed creamed cabbage and bacon. Jamie Oliver recipe which my mum makes perfectly.
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
Its definitely the giving during the Christmas holiday that I love the most. I love watching the persons face who is receiving the gift light up!
What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
I am lucky and so very grateful to have received so many beautiful and lovely gifts throughout my life already. I will always remember my first laptop though. It was funny because 2 weeks after Christmas, my dad was trying to fix the screen and ended up breaking the whole of it, meaning it had to be replaced again within the month!
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I think Lapland or Iceland would be the top 2. But I think Id swap them for a chance to visit somewhere hot at the same time.
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I’m one of the in between wrappers. I start of with all good intentions to have every single present wrapped to perfection. After a few presents though I seem to loose my rug with them.
Most memorable Christmas moment?
the memory of finding out we were going to Disney for the new year as children. It was such a beautiful trip. And the excitement was unreal.
What made you realise the truth about Santa?
To be honest, I knew way before me and my dad had a chat for it, but I remember my response being. ‘we have got to keep it a secret’ referring to the fact my brother way still very young.
What makes the holidays special for you?
being with my loved ones, and just enjoying our time together.
I would like to nominate these lovely people to take part:
this hoodie is at the top of my list because it’s actually cute. And the fact that it is a proper hoodie! Sometimes wearing a wooden Christmas jumper is so irritable on your skin. It’s awful. plus wearing a hoodie is pretty normal since most of my wardrobe consists of hoodies. so anyway, yes. This hoodie is my favourite and I need it… but now we can move on to the actual winners of the ugly Christmas jumpers.
well, I’m not surprised this made it to the online stores this year. After the year that we have had it’s just what you expect to see, isn’t it? I mean it’s only right after the elf on the shelf had to isolate for 2 weeks before he could start spreading some naughty amusement that we would have our festive gingerbread men wearing a face covering.
Moving on to a more traditional looking jumper with a quote from one of my favourite Christmas movies. Home alone. this isn’t to bad for an ugly Christmas jumper. In fact, it’s quite smart looking with its black and white colours.
this is your plain and simple, classic Tesco’s, value Christmas jumper. Does anyone else remember when their value food was packaged exactly the same way? whilst being a brilliant ugly Christmas jumper I like the humour in giving this as a Christmas gift to the person you usually gift a jumper too.
This jumper literally has this Christmas already summarised for us. Christmas time, socially distancing and wine. It’s just the reality of wine mixing with social distancing is bleak. I would happily wear this jumper.
I used to have this jumper! I have no idea where it is. It used to be one of the favourites though so I had to include it in my list. make anyone’s head look like they’re coming from a Christmas elf’s body. Perfect.
This is honestly the best, most impractical, hilarious ugly Christmas jumper, almost ever, In my opinion. I’d definitely recommend daring 2 of your friends to wear the jumper for the full evening. It will be a hilarious thing ever once they have had a few drinks.

When I started thinking about blogmas posts and what I wanted to include this year, I was quite excited at the thought of writing a few gift guides. Then when it came to who I wanted to write gift guides for. I thought what better than writing a gift guide for the blogger in your life. I already have brought so much of my Amazon account towards my blogging. So a few of these I am really passionate about. Especially when it comes to useful gifts, the others are a few things that I have on my wish list in the hope to purchase myself soon. So let’s get started… Here is my recommendations of Gift ideas for bloggers.
The only gift guide you could possibly need for the blogger in your life.
when it comes to blogging I use a range of devices to keep my blog going. I generally use my iPad when I am out and about or in bed, so I currently have this keyboard on my wish list. The pretty pink style is so aesthetically pleasing also!
I am obsessed with my LED ring light tripod. It makes creating videos and photos a breeze. The light simply plugs into a USB port, normally I plug mine into my laptop! And I use this the most for creating cute craft videos when I need too.
Bloggers love mugs as it is but this cute little miss Blogger mug is the perfect gift ideas for bloggers. it says exactly what they do on the tin!. Plus keeping them caffeinated whilst working on their blog is something that honestly is appreciated. Believe me.
When it came to thinking about my gift ideas for bloggers, I wanted to include things that would be useful for the blogger with their photos. Media is really important for blogging after all. Felt letter boards are something I am completely obsessed with! especially for creating flat-lay images with! You can create whatever message you want and add a few props around the board for a really nice pic to upload for the blog. I have a few letter boards now. I like to write positive messages on them when I can, or countdowns to things we are looking forward too. It’s an idea a blogger, influencer or vlogger will love.
having a decent microphone when you are creating video media is essential. It’s all very well having a decent picture but if nobody can understand what you’ve got to say they won’t be tuning back in in the future. this cute little condenser microphone clips to your clothes and allows recordings to be clear with little sound distortion.
This is an amazing tool for taking photos of things with a clear and non-hectic background. I have used mine for around a year now, I love the fact I can use optional backgrounds depending on what I am shooting, and I would highly recommend this to bloggers. Since even if you don’t have a camera, and are using your phone to take images, the lighting and optional top access allows professional like photos to be taken.
One thing I highly rate is vision and memo boards, and it’s nice to have a board to work with when it comes to tracking your goals and creating vision boards. This cute little set would suit any blogger, all they need to do is fill it with things that keep them positive and inspired.
one thing is for certain. If you blog, then chances are you are on your devices a lot, and I mean hours at a time. The thing with computers is even laptops should be used on a suitable surface such as a desk. Laptop stands not only keep your laptop safe from overheating but it also allows you to position yourself in the most comfortable position whilst working.
if you know me your know how obsessed I am with making notes and lists.
Notebooks are always a simple but well appreciated present to a blogger… we go through countless amounts of note-taking, idea jotting, researching. I can fill up a full notebook in a short amount of time.
if they own an iPad, then an Apple Pencil could change the game for them! Open even more doors to there content, etc. Being able to draw your own graphics, be even more creative and take notes and things digitally! This is an amazing tool.
finally, a tablet stand may sound simple but it’s the perfect desk accessory. Especially now that your iPad can connect with your Apple Mac to allow for split-screen functionality. Having an iPad that slips down constantly won’t have to be a bug-bear for them anymore.
We have been really enjoying the novelty of putting out the Christmas decorations for our first Christmas in our house…
And as my blogmas posts continue I have been super excited about this one (editing a little last minute too, of-course.)
I’ve been so excited to talk about Christmas decorations as well as getting to show you guys what we have got up too so far with the festive house decor. It’s our first Christmas decorating our very own home.
The cute festive Disney bedding!
We always said that we would never bother with Christmas themed bedding. We normally just do Christmas decorations. However, when we found this bedding in Asda a few months ago we fell in love with the idea of having Disney Christmas covers!
This cute set is finally on our bed after ages of waiting to the ‘appropriate’ time to put it on.
Emma loves her snow globes, and we seem to have grown a small collection over the past few years. They look really cosy as a few ornaments on one of our living room tables!
This year’s newest addition to the tree.
Christmas decorations to reflect our personality. Of course, our Disney Christmas tree decorations are getting more and more as we now have a few on the tree. So far we have Olaf, Stitch, Angel and some Mickey baubles. These cute little Mickey baubles are £1.50 each in Asda, and they look adorabauble!
And the tree itself…
Putting up the Christmas tree so early this year has really brought some positive vibes to our house. Especially when facing the 2nd Lockdown.
I love our tree this year! The only thing I could possibly wish is that we had better lights! but this will have to wait till next year…
A special new addition.
This beautiful Christmas decoration was brought for us and put together by my lovely mum, which really cheered me up this week. Its sparkly, and personalised, and although I am not sure where we are going to put this yet (due to the battery) I cant wait for it to be displayed and cherished for years to come.
As December continues I am sure we will do more and more to give the house its festive vibes. I can’t wait to share more with you guys soon! Have a lovely day!
